A large group of Northern Marine officers attended a company seminar in Mumbai recently to receive company updates on a large variety of subjects and participate in an interactive session intended to promote and enhance Northern Marine's safety management system.
A total of 57 Indian officers of all ranks from across the Northern Marine Management Ltd fleet groups attended the NMM India PVT Ltd Officers Seminar on 5th November.
The event was successfully organised and hosted by Mahesh Garimella, Director, General Manager and his team and was conducted by Dhan Swadi, NMMS Personnel Director, Alastair Fleming, NMM General Manager, Sumit Trikha, Marine Resource Manager and Mhairi Caldwell, NMMS Recruitment and Scheduling Manager.
The seminar re-emphasised key messages to promote and enhance the company's safety management system, promote fleet compliance, effective shipboard management and effective communications between both ship and shore management teams.
The seminar also covered additional topics including operational and personnel updates, learnings from incidents, and Basic Media Response Training by MTI Network.
A successful open forum gave attendees the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback.
Commenting on the feedback from attending officers, Alastair Fleming said: "All were very positive and welcomed the opportunity to attend and participate in the forum.
"All participated in two-way interactive discussions and feedback was well received.
"There were some very valid points and suggestions made."
The NMM India PVT Ltd Officers Seminar takes place every two years, with similar seminars taking place across other regions.
