Gas Fleet expansion offers career opportunities

16th Feb 2022

Northern Marine is expanding its fleet of managed Gas vessels, providing opportunities for experienced Gas Officers to join the Company.

Six handysize LPG vessels and 3 VLGC vessels are coming into management in 2022, adding to Northern Marine’s existing Gas fleet.

To supplement the Company’s existing global officer personnel pool, external candidates with relevant experience and ambition are encouraged to monitor current vacancies and register their interest.

Barrie Finlayson, Head of Crewing, Northern Marine Manning Services, said: “At Northern Marine the measured expansion of the managed Fleet is underpinned by planning and long-term partnerships with clients who share our ideals on safety, performance, and sustainability.

“People are our key asset. Our existing international pool of seafarers, coupled with our internal Oil, LPG, and LNG crossover training programmes, ensures a high degree of agility when crewing a diverse fleet of vessels and offers our colleagues at sea with opportunities to expand their skill sets and qualifications and switch to different vessel types.

“To supplement the crewing of new vessels into management we are also offering opportunities to external candidates with Gas experience to develop their career with Northern Marine.”

Northern Marine has a long history of providing Crew and Technical management services to a variety of leading LNG and LPG ship owners, with Gas carriers making up approximately half of all vessels under full Technical management.
